Introducing Persimmon (Simmy) Brown, who has recently moved to Windermere and opened a florist shop. With her asstantant Melanie and new friend Ben Harkness, she is reluctantly drawn into the murky complications of a large family of affluent locals, one of whom is murdered shortly after Simmy has been speaking to him. Detective Inspector Moxon finds Simmy a most unusual and frustrating witness.
